Heat, Conferences, and a picture!

Hello family and friends!
Well currently it is 96 degrees outside and the heat index is 105! Mmmmm...nice and toasty!
Instant sweat when we go out and work! Good thing we have a car!!! Loving that A.C.
So this sunday was the monthly fireside and a member of the seventy, Elder Cardon, was there and spoke to us. He is doing a mission tour here this week and will be here at our stake center tomorrow for a conference. I am dang excited! Half of the mission will be here for it and that means that I get to see my first son Elder Jensen!:) This week is going to be busy and full of meetings! Tomorrow we have the conference from 9-4. On wednesday I have a district leader conference from 6-9 in the evening. And on thursday we are having zone conference from 9 to 4! So this week is going to be fun!

So sad news about Sarah J... she has been super solid ever since we found her and started teaching her. But lately her husband has been starting to get mad at her for meeting with us. She came to our lesson this last tuesday and we sat down and she said that her husband told her that if she gets baptized they will get a divorce.... FREAK! So we talked about what she can do and what we can do to help this situation. She said that she will keep reading the book of Mormon and live the word of wisdom and that she will fast and pray a lot so that he softens his heart. We told he that we would pray a lot for her also. Thats just so sad and disappointing when someone understands the gospel and how true it is and then something comes up so that they cant be baptized. Justin C knew the church was true 2 years ago but had to wait until now to be baptized. So please keep Sarah J in your prayers and her husband to soften his heart.

Leiloni went out teaching with the sisters this week and she did great! They said that they loved having her come with them, she shared a few scriptures and fellow shipped really really well. We love her so so much!

So transfer meeting is coming up on the 16th of next month! And I really feel like I am done here haha I have been in this area since February!

Oh and I am now over 1 year old!! That feels so weird. Time flys.

I love you all!

One year mark this week!!!

Hello family and friends!
Can't believe that it has been another week! Time is flying like crazy. This coming thursday is going to be my year mark! One year ago I was entering into the MTC, that just is nuts! And its pretty crazy that I am only in my second area. Been here since February, I am almost to the point of being ready to go to a new area haha
Today before we emailed we went over to Louisville to go to the zoo. It was pretty fun. There was nobody there so that was pretty nice. It was sweet to see all of the animals there. My favorite was probably the polar bear or the Tigers. They are saweet!

This week wasn't a whole lot different than most. I cant really think of anything that big that happened. All of our investigators are doing pretty well right now. we had good lessons with them this week. Only Justin C came to church. Sarah was sick and Bill had to work. Leiloni and Anara couldn't come because Anara was sick and Leilonis mom was in the hospital. So that was a big bummer!

Right now we are just praying that Bill's work schedule changes. He works on only saturday and sunday over at amazon. But he said he may be quiting soon or his shift might change. He is 60 and the only reason he is working there is for insurance benefits. He is super awesome. He is reading a lot out of the book of mormon and he said that he believes that it is true. The only hang up now is just coming to church! So we are praying praying praying that it works out for him to come!

Ok so crazy story I just thought of. So i dont know if any of you have heard of the movie "the purge" but it is about a city that one night a year from 8pm to 8am anything is legal. Well crazy people over in Louisville wanted that to be real so they tried to start it. A big rumor was going around about it and people were saying that on friday night the purge was going to happen in Louisville. Well the news and the police were taking it pretty real and were preparing for it. President Brouhg called me on thursday and told me about it and told me to tell all of my missionaries to be inside on friday night at 7;30 and to stay inside no matter what until the next morning. It was crazy! A lot of it was a big hoax but I heard that 2 people died as a result of it and the kids that started it on facebook got arrested. It was funny when we went into our apartment that night. I was on exchanges with Elder Langford so we pushed the furniture up against the door and locked the windows and shut the blinds! It was pretty funny. Louisville is just full of crazy people. I dont like huge cities like that!

Well I cant really think of a whole lot more that happened this week! Its been raining here for the past couple days and its supposed to keep on raining so that makes it fun!

I want to share with you all what I learned about Hope this week during my studies. I've learned that hope is really part of faith. We have a hope in Jesus Christ and that no matter what happens to us in this life there is always good to come. We can be going through any trial and have a hope of gaining exaltation and that can keep us going. I can see now that every trial that I have had on my mission has prepared me to be where I am at now. Without those trials I couldn't be a leader and I couldn't be a true representative of Jesus Christ. I am currently going through some trials with my companion and other missionaries that are making me want to be better and act better around others and I am learning that you have to be obedient even in times of peer pressure. No one seems to like the missionary that speaks up about something that is disobedient. I have seen on my mission, and I am getting sick and tired of it, when missionaries back talk about other missionaries. There is so much gossip and back biting and rude talking about other missionaries that it is literally making me sick when I hear all of it. But who's going to be the one to speak up about it? Who's going to be the one that tells that group of missionaries " hey, lets not say that about people, thats not Christ like".? But see the problem is that you take all of the crap when you do that. Your instantly "not cool" when you do that. Your a fun killer. Your an uptight missionary. Well That is what I am learning to overcome. I have repented and stopped being the one to talk bad about others and I am trying to fix the problem that lies here in some of the companionships in my district. I often think to myself now that your loyalty is first to the Lord, then to your mission President, then your companion. And it is definitely not being loyal to the Lord when you are talking rude about his servants, even if what is being said about them is true.
This is the resolve that I have made and I have tried to stick to. I am done speaking rude about others behind their back and making them look bad to others.

I love you all so so much!
1 year down and sadly only 1 to go!!

Baptisms this week!

Hello from Indiana!
Well another transfer down! That was the fastest 6 weeks of my life! This transfer I will be hitting my YEAR MARK... what the heck... Where has time gone?? This past 11 1/2 months has been the best of my life, its also been the hardest but by far the most rewarding! I didn't get a call from President Brough on saturday so that means I am staying here in New Albany for another 6 weeks!

This saturday Leiloni and Anara were baptized:) :)

And I was blessed to baptize Leiloni.

They are both so amazing. I love them both so so much! This weekned our zone alone had 10 Baptisms and there are much more to come. Our area here in new Albany Car has 5 planned within the next month!:) And possibly more! We are being SO blessed right now, its almost ridiculous haha.

We are working with 2 boys, Jerry and TT, their Mom is a less active but she in now staring to come back. They are 13 and 11 and they are awesome boys. We love them to death. We have a lesson with them and then we play basketball at the church, its way fun! Their baptism date is for the 6th of September

Justin is still set for the 6th of september also.

We are teaching a new guy named Bill,he's  about 60. Hes really cool and he likes the Book of Mormon. he came to the baptism and enjoyed it. We will be setting a baptism date with him the next time we see him!

Lots going on but its hard to write about it all haha!
I love you all!

Eatting at El Nopal as a district.
I ordered what they call the "Burrito Gigante". It was ridiculous...  Biggest burrito ever.

Our apartment. All of the Elder haven't had a dinner at a members house for a while so we decided to have sunday dinner together so we made a big meal and ate at our apartment.

Chicken coop we built for a Member in our area. It was pretty fun to build.
